Nashville, TN – Doug Bachman, a balancer with SMWIA Local 19 from Robesonia, will star in a Missouri waterfowl hunt on the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance’s new TV show, Brotherhood Outdoors at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 11 on the Sportsman Channel.

Hosted by noted outdoorsman, Tom Ackerman, Brotherhood Outdoors puts American workers in the spotlight, giving them the opportunity to join Ackerman for a quality outfitted North American trip of their choosing or to act as his guide, taking him to their favorite hunting or fishing location.

An avid waterfowl hunter, Bachman was honored to join Ackerman and Dan Guyer, a retired Union auto worker and owner of Iron Duck Hunting, for a late season waterfowl hunt in the Mississippi Flyway between Missouri’s Squaw Creek Wildlife Area and Smithville Lake.

Although conditions weren’t ideal, Bachman and Ackerman made the most of their hunt, relying on Guyer’s expertise as a guide and competitive duck and goose caller. Blown away by the number and variety of waterfowl he saw during the hunt, Bachman already has already made plans to return to the area next season.

“I’m no Davy Crockett,” Bachman confessed. “But I’m a decent wing shot, and I had a heck of a good time.  I had a smile on my face for at least a month afterward and couldn’t stop talking about my experience with Brotherhood Outdoors.”

In addition to the exhilarating hunt, viewers will also get an intimate glimpse into the life of Bachman, a blue-collar character with a passion for the great outdoors and a desire to make a difference in his community.

A dedicated husband and father of two, Bachman hasn’t missed a day of work in more than 14 years. Hunting since the age of four, Bachman was taken under the wing of his grandfather early on, and strives to share his passion for the great outdoors with his own children as well as others in his community. A veteran sheet metal worker and instructor, he even designed and built a custom, pop-up blind for his 18-foot boat in order to hunt waterfowl from both land and water.

Tune in to the Sportsman Channel at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 11 to find out if Bachman can tame the waterfowl of the Mississippi Flyway on this exciting episode of Brotherhood Outdoors.
