“The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance is in a rapid growth phase and our operations and programs are expanding beyond our current staff capacity,” said Scott Vance, the USA’s CEO and executive director. “Erik has the skills, talent and experience to play an integral role in maintaining our efficiency and helping us not only grow our operations intelligently, but also making sure our organization significantly increases its conservation footprint and value to our partners.”

In his role as COO, Frankl will ensure the functionality of operational business to drive extensive and sustainable growth while establishing, improving and reinforcing best practices, policies and procedures that promote the USA’s culture and vision. Frankl looks forward to strategizing, managing and executing new ventures while working alongside the CEO to help ensure alignment among all departments toward the USA’s mission and vision.

“I am truly excited to be joining such an amazing and talented team at such an exciting time in the organization,” said Frankl. “I look forward to being a part of expanding USA’s conservation impact in the Union world.”

Most recently, Frankl served as a senior director for the program management office for EnLighted Corporation and was responsible for the overall profit and loss performance, project administration, change management, and customer expectation leveling for several concurrent lighting retrofit and software implementation projects worth more than $60MM.

Prior to working for EnLighted, Frankl spent 14 years at Astro Pak, serving as the COO and senior vice president of Strategy. He led corporate strategy, sales & marketing, information systems & technology, employee development, quality, field operations and cleanroom operations. During this time, he restructured the organization and launched a cohesive sales and marketing strategy, which resulted in revenue growth from $6MM in 2001 to $45MM in 2015.

Having been raised in a family of outdoorsmen, Frankl has a deep appreciation for what it means to be a conservationist. He began hunting upland game birds when he was 10 years old and now joins his father on an annual mule deer hunt during muzzle loader season in Utah. Frankl also enjoys stream fishing in the Sierra’s, hiking, whitewater rafting and golfing amongst many other outdoor activities.

Frankl joins the USA from Gallatin, Tennessee, and will work at USA’s headquarters. He graduated from Pepperdine University with master’s degrees in both business administration and clinical psychology.
