Nashville, TN – Captain Bob Barteck, firefighter, paramedic and shift commander from Wisconsin Rapids will star in a whitetail bow hunt on the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance’s new TV show, Brotherhood Outdoors at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 4 on the Sportsman Channel.

Hosted by noted outdoorsman, Tom Ackerman, Brotherhood Outdoors puts American workers in the spotlight, giving them the opportunity to join Ackerman for a quality outfitted North American trip of their choosing or to act as his guide, taking him to their favorite hunting or fishing location.

An accomplished rifleman, muzzleloader and bow hunter, Barteck was honored to join Ackerman and Illinois Ohio Valley Trophy Hunts for a late season whitetail hunt in southern Illinois.

“I’ve hunted whitetails, black bear, turkey, waterfowl and upland birds in Wisconsin and Elk throughout Montana, Colorado and Idaho,” said Barteck. “Until now all of my hunts have been do-it-yourself, so the thought of going on a guided hunt of any kind was very exciting to me.”

During this late-season hunt, Ackerman and Barteck played musical tree-stands trying to get into the best positions to cover the food plots that were brimming with post-rut deer.  A shift in the weather from unseasonably warm to cold and snowy caused the deer to move earlier in the day putting Barteck in position for a shot at a 130+ class whitetail.

In addition to the exhilarating hunt, viewers will also get an intimate glimpse into the life of Barteck, a blue-collar character with a passion for the great outdoors and a desire to make a difference in his community.

An alumni member of IAFF Local 425, Barteck’s passion in life is serving those in need. A Boy Scouts of America Scoutmaster and volunteer for the Salvation Army, Wisconsin Rapids Community Table and Community Care Day, he’s also a member of the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance and serves on the committee of the River Cites Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Tune in to the Sportsman Channel at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 4 to find out if Barteck’s first guided hunt is a success on this exciting episode of Brotherhood Outdoors.
