Nashville, TN—Scott Walsh a fire fighter (IAFF Local 1561) from Eastpointe, MI, will show off his rescued bird dogs’ pheasant hunting abilities at 8 p.m. (E/P) onThursday, August 2 on the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance’s (USA) award-winning hunting and fishing TV Show, Brotherhood Outdoors.
An avid small game and deer hunter, Walsh had always wanted a hunting dog but as a household of two public servants, a toddler and a teenager, he couldn’t rationalize the cost of purchasing one. Now just two years later, Houdini and her brother Hobson, both rescued bird dogs, will star alongside Walsh thanks to the help of retired UAW member and dog trainer Bill Murdock.
When he’s not on the job or in the field, Walsh can be found immersed in his community and volunteering with the Eastpointe Good Fellows, Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
“Walsh is a prime example of the impact that sportsmen and women can have on preserving and protecting North America’s outdoor heritage for future generations,” said Brotherhood Outdoors Executive Producer Kate Cywinski. “Not only is he getting his entire family involved in hunting, but he’s also a member of a number of conservation organizations including the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and the Michigan Duck Hunters Association.”
A staple in Sportsman Channel’s ‘Made in America’ programming, Brotherhood Outdoors puts American workers, like Walsh, in the spotlight, taking viewers into their homes and communities, on their job sites and into the wilderness for exciting hunting and fishing adventures across North America. Guests on the series have the opportunity take part in an outfitted North American adventure or to act as a guide, inviting the show’s host to their favorite hunting or fishing locations.
Presented by Bank of Labor, Brotherhood Outdoors is also sponsored by the following union and contractor partners: International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, National Electrical Contractors Association, International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers and United Association/International Training Fund.
