Brodie House, a member of Electrical Workers Local 702 from Sullivan, Illinois, will be getting away this year for some reel time with professional bass angler Mark Zona thanks to the USA and Carhartt.
House first became a member of the USA through the organization’s calendar program and then learned of the fishing trip sweepstakes through a USA email. Though he signed up, he was shocked when he got the call that he was drawn as the grand prize winner of a $15,000 fishing package. “I assumed it was a telemarketer,” he said.
The package includes a 2-day guided fishing trip for House and a guest on Lake St. Clair, located between Michigan and Canada, with Mark Zona, as well as lodging, licenses, cash for travel expenses, and a $2,000 Carhartt gift card for gear.
House is an avid hunter and angler, though he doesn’t get out as much as he used to now that he has a 3-year-old. He looks forward to fishing with a professional and said he recalls watching a fishing show or two starring Mark Zona. House chose his brother-in-law, Todd Smith, to share in the adventure.
“Carhartt has always been a brand focused on the American worker, so we were proud to partner with the USA, once again, to provide one hardworking USA member with an unforgettable fishing adventure,” said Matt Marsh, Carhartt strategic sponsorships specialist. “The USA aligns with Carhartt’s passion for hard work and love of the outdoors, and we look forward to additional ways to support its mission in 2021.”
