Nashville, TN – Brett Graham, a veteran machinist with IAM Local 839 and avid sportsman from Wichita, will star in a Kansas Goose hunt on the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance’s new TV show, Brotherhood Outdoors at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 14 on the Sportsman Channel.
Hosted by noted outdoorsman, Tom Ackerman, Brotherhood Outdoors puts American workers in the spotlight, giving them the opportunity to join Ackerman for a quality outfitted North American trip of their choosing or to act as his guide, taking him to their favorite hunting or fishing location.
An avid waterfowler and owner of Liberty Chesapeakes Hunting Guides and Kennels, Graham was honored to have Ackerman join him for the hunt outside Kansas’ Quivira National Wildlife Refuge, which sees more than one million geese, 250,000 Sandhill Cranes and 100,000 ducks during its peak season.
The first day of the hunt proved to be tough on the group, who quickly realized that hunting and taping a hunt for TV are two very different things. As day two rolled around Graham worked his magic on the decoy layout, the weather shifted in their favor and the hunt was on! After a full day in the field, he could only describe the hunt as “lights out.” Ackerman agreed, calling it the best day of goose shooting he’d ever experienced.
In addition to the exhilarating hunt, viewers will also get an intimate glimpse into the life of Graham, a blue-collar character with a passion for the great outdoors and a desire to make a difference in his community.
“I remember watching the old American Sportsmen TV show one Sunday afternoon, when I was 10-years-old,” Graham said. “I saw host Curt Gowdy hunting ducks and thought ‘that really looks cool. I’m going to do that someday.’”
A husband and father of three, Graham is a long-time member of Ducks Unlimited (DU), and a huge advocate for waterfowl habitat—especially National Wildlife Refuges. Every year he donates a father-son/daughter hunt to a different chapter of DU in Kansas to help raise necessary conservation funding.
Tune in to the Sportsman Channel at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 14 to see Graham and Ackerman take on a plethora of Kansas Geese on this exciting episode of Brotherhood Outdoors.
